What are some of the ways you have installed thermostats in an early 21 stud. Mine is a 36 LB. Getting chilly in New England and couldn’t get temp over 105-110 on gauge other morning. Yep gauge is correct. Normally would not run the roadster but make over on AD truck wont be done till xmas. So 32 roadster it is.

I too can get a low 100* temp when out on a chilly morning without stats. I'm running 170* thermostats that are a lower temp than stock part to a 85-88 Pontiac Fiero with a 2.8 V6. You can also find them in a 160 and 190 is stock. They have a cage as part of the design and are the right diameter to fit perfectly within the hoses. I have mine basically sitting on top of the water pumps. I use a third clamp to secure the cage within the hose (same way Ford did).

I decided to just use thermostats i had in stock. Cut to fit my stainless tubes. Drilled bypass holes than tack weld in place. Simple enough to change if have too. Now see how they work when the cold weather shows up. Cheap and simple.

Go to noble speed equipment they carry modern thermostats that fit into the radiator hoses of the 36 flathead. I did this with my 36. Rick is a great guy and will steer you in the right direction. I placed the stats in the 36 rad hoses near the top radiator inlets and used a clamp to keep them in place. Worked perfectly. No welding or rigging some crazy set up . Just put them in the hoses ,clamp and done

For the 7 dollars all total i think these work great. 20 mins work and temp holds great today on a 70 degree day . Could be a bit warmer coolant temp but ok for now at 170.
Thanks for info! But think his are also welded lol
