36 flatback/ trunkback

I have found several Tudor body styles listed for 1936, Tudor Standard, Tudor Deluxe, Tudor Driving Sedan, and a Tudor Driving Sedan Deluxe.

Which one would denote a Flatback and which a Trunkback? Or was a flatback known as a different model such as in previous years the Victoria?

And what made a Deluxe a Deluxe?

I have a 36' deluxe touring sedan with the trunkback or (humpback, as it's more commonly callled). I don't know everything that sets it apart from a standard but I do know that the grille is stainless on mine and the horn covers are bright metal as well as the moulding on the running boards.

The slant back was kind of a Victoria body style replacement so the trunk back would be a good candidate for a touring or driving sedan. The Deluxe models just had a little fancier trimmings for most models at least until the V8-60 came out later on.

according to the '35-'36 book, the tudor sedan was a slantback, and the tudor touring sedan was a trunkback....standard models only had driver's side tail light, deluxe had both tail lights....differences in the spare cover, too....as others have said, trim, etc. were main differences....i think...lol...Mike

Will this help? Taken from the V-8 ALBUM.
