36 Fan blades

I've been thinking about replacing the original steel 4 blade fan on the genny of my stock 36' with perhaps a lighter and more effecient modern fan. Better cooling? What do you guys think? What fan would you reccomend?

There are six blade versions that are the same diameter and hub configuration as your stock four blade fan. They pull more air through the radiator and over the engine but make a little more noise. I believe these six blade versions were used on some of the early v8 trucks. They are obviously not lighter than the four blade versions so they may not interest you. I'm sure there are modern flex blade fans that could be adapted to your stock fan mount generator that would be lighter in weight and provide more cfm of air flow.

I saw a great looking flex fan at NAPA awhile back. It would take some modification to make it work.

If it is not broke don't fix it. If it is overheating find out why and don't blame the fan.
