36 centre hood strip

I need to obtain a new centre chrome hood strip for my '36 as some bozo had previously cut an inch or so off its length (don't ask me why) and I only realized this when I came to re-fit the hood panels after a three year resto.

So I can't open both sides of the hood, at the same time, otherwise it pops out of the bracket on the firewall and the whole lot flaps around.

I've looked in the usual MACs, Bob Drake catalogues but can't see this strip listed. Has anybody got any ideas on where I might source a 'full length' strip?

I'll be over in the US in Mid-Nov so can hopefully bring one back to the UK in my suitcase.

i think most, if not all of the vendors will carry that strip.....look under "center hood hinge"....or something similar.....as it is a hinge, versus a trim strip....good luck....Mike
 
You might want to post on the wanted section. The repo's are a little different than ginnies.
