36 cabriolet package box side panel

Help! If one looks at the enclosed photo in the right center, the upholstered panel is being compressed by the top iron, when it is lowered. The iron is attached to the body by two screws. I'm in the process of restoring the car and think that this panel is incorrect. Does anyone have a photo of what theirs' looks like? Then I can modify the one that came with the car or make a new one. Thanks Bruce

bgalla....I see you're from Chico. Sister lives there and I was raised up in Weed. I have a 35 Cab with a Carson top so not much help for you but it looks to me that the fabric has served it's useful life. Might be time to get the irons cleaned up and get some new fabric.

A local, thanks for the reply, top is shot no doubt and will be replaced. I was questioning the inside panel covering the back most iron. B

Maybe these will help? Don Rogers posted the 35-6 cabriolet top iron assembly. The short vertical support arm is behind the upholstery and the hinge and attached long arm is inside toward the well.
