36 5W Coupe

Was up early this morning having my coffee and eating my weeties like a good boy should when I stumbled on this advertised on the HAMB. Quick phone call later and it's going to be headed this way. Full mechanical restoration completed 3 years ago incl hydraulic brakes all suspension, motor etc. Only real changes is a dropped front axle and flattened crossmember in the rear to bring it down a tad.

Body is a tad rough which Im cool with as my 33 is being done really nice so I'll drive this more often. Pretty stoked. I am looking for a few bits that dont need to be perfect as want to try and leave this as close as possible to being a survivor. It certainly wont be rodded whilst I own it, but wont be restored either.

Following parts are what Im after

Thanks fellas, pretty stoked. The 33 is coming along with a new builder but wont be done for some time so the hope is that with a little work this will be a driver a few weeks after arriving.

Just checked the ad - looks like a great project to take on.

You can do as little or as much as you like to it.

Well done.

Mart.

Pete,
You will find that the 36 is quite an improvement in driving.
I love 34's but the 36 is better. Took mine on an 800 mile cruise to Maine
and no discomfort putting in 3 hours at a time.

Thanks everyone and to those that have PM'd me re parts. Dave how do I tell the 35 fenders from the 36? Probably wont chase any up right now but if I saw some correct ones probably would.

The 36 Ford 5W Coupe rear fender has a sharper curve (closer to 90 degrees) near the running board and is longer from the taillight to the end of the fender. Also the top of the fender is almost straight, while the 35 fender is more concave. Hope you can see in the photo.

There is nothing wrong with the appearance of your '36 with '35 rear fenders. If you were building a high point show car, having the correct year fenders would be important, but for a driver, they look great in my opinion. Most folks would not even know the difference anyway.
