351 Windsor Valve Cover Gasket Leak

My 1991 Bronco has a valve cover leak. Ford wants $600 plus  to replace the gaskets, they allow 5 hours for the work. Is it really that big a job? Is there clear simple information on how I can tackle it myself?

Sounds like a ton of money. Do they have to take off a lot of things to get to them? Post a couple of pictures.

you have to remove the upper portion of the intake manifold, disconnet the fuel lines and some wiring, but it is not a difficult job

That sounds like a lot of money. Only done it once to a 1968 Opel Rekord I had and on THAT car it was a simple task.

I have a 351W and I've taken the valve covers off several times. It is an easy job really. Just remember the bolts are 8"lbs torque and let the RTV sit for 24hrs before you start the engine up again. You can buy the gaskets from NAPA, O'Reilly's, or Autozone for cheap since the engine was made for forty years with very few changes to the valve covers.
