I am questioning if my original 35 radiator has the capacity to cool a 255 merc engine bored 60 over. If everything else is right. Thanks in advance
 
I agree with Brian...you should be okay. I also have a 284 engine in my hot rod and plan to use an early stock '35 radiator with larger coolent capacity top. If it became necessary, I would add an electric cooling fan.
 
I'm putting a 255 in my '36 and will run the fan on the alternator, stock position. I found a 6 bladed fan for it. I'm thinking of making a fiberglass fan shroud which would basically cover the lower half of the radiator. Seems to me that the way the tank hangs over the fan, it acts as a semi-shroud anyway. Anyone built and used a shroud on a '35,'36 with a fan in the stock position?
