1935 Ford Pick-Up Truck Grille. Don't know if this picture helps?

I can tell that you have a 'whiskey stop' grille.
The owner spent time at the local watering hole and after a few too many whiskeys, used the grille to stop once he got home.
But seriously, the metal of the grille is pretty strong and you can really pound on it without creating damage (not counting the damage already done). My body shop guy showed me where to pound and I started to. He stopped me after about 4 hits and proceeded to take the hammer --- and then really wailed on it. I wasn't hitting it hard enough he said.
Just be careful around the grille bars or you will have to weld in new ones.

The grill bars can be used as tell tales to denote if the edge where the connect is not straight they cannot be aligned.

Thanks for the replies. Mercman's picture (and others I have seen online) appear to show that the grill should be straight along that edge. There is a slight bulge on the outside of that area which seems to indicate that the "kink" needs to be stretched to remedy the bulge as well. Now to figure out how to stretch that area vertically but not sideways........
