35 Lighting switch install

I need someone to verify if this is the correct order to install the lighting
switch at the end of my 35 steering column. Make sure the lighting switch
handle is in the off position on the steering wheel, install the spring on the
bottom of the box, make sure the spider is placed on the end with the two operating tabs in the vertical position in order for it to be in the correct position to engage the lighting switch slots then, depress the spring enough to install the retainer clip.

Yes, you have the order correct, one other thing , you'll probably find it easier to compress the spring if you can have an assistant inside the car to push the horn button/light switch plate downwards to stop the whole rod wanting to migrate up the column. Can be done one person, but easier to have that assistant...

I didn't have a helper handy so wrapped tape over horn button around to column to keep horn rod from pushing up.

Peter the clip that holds it all together is a real pain in the butt to lock in place. Be patient and ready to listen where it lands if it goes flying! Next time I’m installing I’ll have a couple on hand! Dan
