What oil is used in the steering box? My car has the trip meter on the speedometer but I see no way to reset it to 00.0 Any help on these question would be appreciated.

There is a little knob on the back of it, just push in and turn to 00.0. Be sure and manually pull it back out after setting.

I have been using straight STP in my steering boxes for years. It works great !
MIKE :)

I once used the heavy weight gear oil but it leaked out too quickly. I then switched to 50/50 gear oil and STP. That work a little better but still too much leaking. I now use just STP and that's staying in the box much better. What I plan to try next is John Deere Corn Head grease. I have heard this grease works very well in steering boxes and universal joints.

John Deere Cornhead grease is in all my steering boxes and is excellent. Runs just enough to fill in voids.
