I'm needing to go to the hardware store to pick up screws to install my sending unit and pick up onto my tank and would like to know what size machine screws I need to get.

If there fillister head,slotted good luck. I think there 8x32x5/8 or 10x32x5/8. I have all sizes in correct head and size if you need,all in SS.ken PM me.
