I have a 35 Ford truck and I wish to make it a pickup. What frame would be the best to use. I want to end up with hydraulic barake and a 8BA engine and a sync trans. Not a hot rod. just a daily driver. I assume the fenders are bigger on the truck? is this correct? Thanks, Russ

You have asked a very open ended question to which about a million answers would all be correct. could you please tell us a bit more about what you are wanting to do?
Off the top of my head, I would go for a 39/40 car or 39/40/41 pu frame. This is the same as a 35 pickup (in essence) but already has hydraulic brakes and better steering box. Once your cab is fitted, you would need a new pickup bed and the correct front sheetmetal. I don't know how much of the front end sheetmetal is the same as the pickup, you have the truck, what are your thoughts??

hi Russ WELCOME TO THE FORDBARN ! without the great bunch of peolpe on this site I would have been lost ,I was in the same boat as you ,had a big 39 fire-engine tanker . all that I was able to use was the cab ,doors , hood ,headlights an motor. you really need a 35-40 frame as they are pretty much the same,, as said above, though 39 an 40 had the juice brakes . theres a few smaller things you can keep too . you can figure on paying around a grand(or more dependind on whats still on it) for a nice rolling chassic . I got lucky an got a 37 pic-up chassic from a guy who just took all the sheetmetal off of it an made a streetrod . leaving me a nice roller complete with the steering wheel an hubcaps
