35 Ford Cabriolet question

Was there a rubber weather strip mounted to the top iron for the rear of the door windows to seal against when rolled up? The area in question is marked with a piece of blue tape in photo. I have a piece of stainless channel with a rubber seal, just like the one mounted on the windshield frame for the front of the door window that I could attach with screws, but would like to know if this would be correct. This is for a 35 Ford Cabriolet.
