Maybe, maybe not. It depends on the part of the backing plate not shown in your photo. At the very bottom of the backing plate where the "front operating wedge stud" is attached in the center through the plate with a slotted hex nut and cotter pin, then it's a '35. If that stud is riveted to the backing plate, then it's a '36. (No doubt the actual stop/start date of the change wasn't equal at all plants, but it's a general guide as to the only difference between the two model years' front backing plates.)

Thanks, this is at an auction this next weekend. It has 2 35 wire wheels on it that I want. I know likely I will have to bid above the value of the wheels. Axle and spindles have been welded together, so trying to figure above apox value of the rest. Rod

I had another look this morning. One backing plate is a 36, the other is a 35 that has had the wedge stud welded to the backing plate. Likely it is not restorable in that condition. Can not see the condition of the hubs/drums, but likely they are 35,s judging by the bolt pattern for the 35 wheels. May not bid much above the value of the wheels. Since this has been made into a wire winder I am hoping some farmer does not think it very valuable. Rod

On the 36 backing plate the bottom rivet can be removed and replaced by the 35 bottom bolt. slotted hex nut and cotter key.
