35-37 Pickup interchange question

Anyone know if the 35 through 37 Pickups share a common dash panel?

Where does a guy find parts interchange data such as this?

Thanks folks.

Mike

Mike, The only parts interchanges I know of are for mechanical parts. The dashes of most all Fords are unique to the model year. Being a pickup, this rule of thumb may be relaxed somewhat. For a mechanical interchange, there is none better than Hollanders, though the "Green Bible" will provide revised parts lists of mostly mechanical parts also. The Hollander will interchange between makes and years, and used to be standard equipment on the desk of every junkyard operator.

35-36 pickups share the same dash panel. Not sure of 37 but I believe it will not interchange with 35-36.

Just a thought. I can assure you that I am guessing and nothing more. Would a '38 be more likely to fit? The passenger cars changed every couple of years with '35 and '36 being similar it might be something to check.

The 35 and 36 pickups used the same dash panel. The 37 and 38 used the same dash panel but not the same as 35/6. The 39 was a one year part. For that 5 year range, they used 3 different windshield regulators whose handles did not attach in the same way plus they changed in model year 37 to a split windshield with two attachment points rather than the one attachment point in 35/6.

I restored a '37 pickup many years ago.. Everything about the '37 dash is completely different from the '35-36.. The '37's have a V'd windshield where-as the '35-36 is flat.
There are a few items on a '37 pickup that are similar to the '35-36, the external horns are similar to the '35-36.. As I recall the rear fenders are also very similar..

35 and 36 dash's are the same, remember they have the flat windshield. The 37 is the first year of the two piece windshield so the upper dash has a v shape to it. I think the glove box door is the same however.

Did a 37 pick up and it was a "transition" year with most of the parts being unique to that year. If you are looking for 37 gauges I have them and willing to sell.

I have an excellent '37 Ford pickup V8 60 radiator that I have tried to sell many times..
Most people want nothing to do with a '37 V8 60 in a pickup..
Ain't cheap, needs nothing, has not been on a truck since the early '60's..

Carbroke...the 3 year interval 35-37 has some parts that interchange between years and some that do not. When you come to an item you have questions about, post the question and I suspect you will get responses that will be helpful to you. Some of the differences between years are subtle and won't matter if you are not doing a completely correct restoration that you want to be judgeable as correct, but other interchanges will not work at all without significant modification. Some 35/6 pickup parts are the same and some are not, there was an early and late 35, some 36/7 parts interchange and some do not...etc.

Study parts books and other original cars and experience. There is no such thing as an interchange for this data.
