35-37 p/u dual side mounts

My 36 P/U has factory dual side mounts. Does anyone have any idea how rare these are and the story behind them? Mine are the only ones I've seen other than an old factory photo. Thanks for any info.

Dual spares are not uncommon during that time period. They were mounted on the running boards, just to the rear of the door, and almost touched the rear fender. I have several pictures of different vehicles with duals. 35-36.
 
I have had a couple of pairs of the runningboards with spare dimples on each side. I have not seen any for several years, at least none for sale. Seems like the 37 half-ton stakebed used runningboards with no dimple on either side. I have only had one of the right side dimple-less OEM boards.
 
There is a red one that shows up at meets in Mass. Owner says his was a Forest Service truck. These were available on fleet trucks as a special order.
