35,36 pickups

Hello fellas,

I've got a 35-36 PU Grill at home in great condition. What are the differances between the two.
And are there differences between Standard PU and Commercial Truck versions?
(Like Model A and AA comercial trucks?)

Hopfully pics tomorrow.

Great pictures. I've always wanted to build one of these and hopefully I will have room in my garage someday to actually do it.

This is my 35 Ford, I've owned it for 30yrs now. I just finished painting it almost done........only one color "black"

I have several. We now have a 35-37 social board if you are interested. I did a tech piece on all the differences between the 35-37 on the hamb. I would really like the guys on here to read it and see if the info is all accurate. I just pick up bits and pieces over the years but my memory is not always 100% accurate.

I'll post a link to it.

Enjoyed it. Wondering about your dads floor mat ever ask where it came from?

JM, I wish I knew the story on that '36 stakebed. I put an aftermarket on mine but my understanding is that Ford did not offer them until '37. That looks like an original set up on that one you drug out. Inquiring minds want to know.

Well, here are a couple of pages out of the "1935 Ford V8 Trucks and Commercial Cars" book that the dealers had.

The stake bed was available on the 131 inch chassis, but they did sell the "Commercial Car Chassis" (1/2 ton Pickup) without the box for custom beds.

In all of my research the stake bed on 1/2 ton commercial did not appear untill 1937 and it had special rear fenders. The remains of the 36 looks to me to be home made.

Jerry, I have a pair of rear fenders with the Flat spoton the top inner area for the stake body. I believe that is what ehty are. Kerk

Hoop,

Where did you get the Texaco signs for your pickups? I'm looking for one of those magnetic signs that I can put on and take off.

Here's a few pictures of Brendan and his PU truck. I met up with Brendan when I was passing through Santa Rosa, CA this past October. We had coffee at Denny's and chatted for awhile about old Fords and some of the folks who post here on Forbarn. He is a good guy and I like his truck!!
