35,36 pickups

Jack,

Had mine done at a local sign shop ... magnetic as you might guess. Both sides have a bunch of autographs ,,, Rutherford, Allison, Yates, Barris, etc. from the Amelia Island Concours. (Sharpies fade.)

I'll see if there is still some artwork at the shop.

Steve, if you and your friend are heading down to southern Marin some weekend, let me know by PM, I'll be happy to show you my truck-it has plenty of nicks and scratches but it's a nice, solid and functional vehicle.

Jeff, your '36 looks beautiful! I'm glad you finally found the one you want. Do you still have your model A?

Brendan, thanks for starting this thread!

Adam

Thanks, Steve-where are you in Petaluma? Maybe you, Brendan and I can get our trucks together some time-

Here's a few pictures of Brendan and his PU truck. I met up with Brendan when I was passing through Santa Rosa, CA this past October. We had coffee at Denny's and chatted for awhile about old Fords and some of the folks who post here on Forbarn. He is a good guy and I like his truck!!

Thanks Jim i had t good time with you also!

Re: A plane 35 pickup

This is our 35 pickup, last fall, at Wings and Wheels Fitchburg, Ma. One month after the photo, the pilot was killed trying to land the very same plane shown in back ground. Sad day for all.

Hey Adam--Thanks! It's a pretty good driver, lots of fun to drive I put probably 800 miles on it this year. Learned to watch the gas gauge closer, MPG isn't so good but I don't care.

Yeah, still foolin' w/ Model A's too but the knees don't bend so good anymore and they are a LOT harder to get in and out of than a '36 Ford pickup. People were smaller back then I'm sure than today.

Merry Christmas and see ya around someday!

Jeff C.

Jeff, ditto the gas mileage and ditto the knees! I find now that if I'm down on one knee, I always look for something around me to help push off to get back up-don't remember doing that 10 years ago.
I'm getting in the 12 to 16 mpg range depending on the mix of hiway and around town driving, with a 3.78:1 rear end; I guess that's OK for something with the aerodynamics of a barn door. Sure does run well, though. Better mileage than it was since I milled the heads.
If you're ever out this way let me know and we'll go for a drive-I seem to remember your brother lives in SoCal?
Merry Xmas/Happy New Year to you and yours!

Adam

I traded 3 vintage pinball machines from mine which was apparently cow field fresh - I have been able to score a replacement set of basketball glass headlights and rings but the correct grill is proving a challenge - mine had a international grill stuck on it - prankster cows I suppose - I've wire welded up the tears in the fenders and body hammered out a whole lotta dents - not finished with the bullet holes in the hood yet. The flathead was a bonus - Im hoping shes restorable - the transmissions shifts freely so Im crossing my fingers - wish me luck

I believe yours is a bit newer.. by the hoodsides and rear fenders and bed as I can see.
