35 - 36 pickup door striker

Thank you Vintique, for yet another part that does not live up to expctations.

On the left is the original Ford striker, on the right is from Vintique.
Package is marked 35-39 Passenger and 35-47 pickup.

Wrong size, wrong shape, and holes are off by about .035

Yeah, I pointed that out to them and they gave me the song and dance that some had the striker on the left, while others had the striker. Pants on fire.

Scott, What you want is striker plate 40-702340. It is listed as a 34 passenger car plate but it was used on 35-36 pickups and panel deliveries. Here is an image out of Drakes Catalogue.

My originals were at the body man's house and it was easier to include new ones in a parts order I placed.
Well this morning I made the trip to body man's house and picked up strikers, dovetails, misc screws, and the center hood support brackets.
Cleaned and painted the strikers and attaching screws and all is good.

Zinc die cast!! ...more reproduction crap. Honestly, how long would die cast last in this application?

I managed to make one fit.. wasn't pretty but it works in the end..
