35/35 rear view mirror

there are several different ones depending on body style and month the car was made, if you want a good answer you will have to provide more information about your car

If you have a 35 closed car, this is what your mirror should look like.

35 window coupe. unknwon month of origin (dont' have the vin, just the body). saw a couple of styles in my web search just curious which or if all were technically correct.

thanks for you responses.

Matt, Early 1936 closed Fords had mirrors that looked like the one above. In May of 1936 the mirror design changed to the style shown below. There is a good discussion of all 35-36 mirrors on page 41 of The 1935-36 Ford Book published by The Early Ford V-8 Club of America.

A question to add ,Did they have a red oxide primer on the glass side facing forward ? and did they have a small strip of head lining material under the clamps more or less the shape of the bracket .I believe so ? But Brian NZ would most likely now for sure ,

Don,

I'd actually expected the later style you showed when the other images pulled up online. I'm looking at swapping some smalls with a guy and wanted to make sure it was a correct option. He's got the earlier style and it's one of the few smalls I know I don't have and may well need.
