35 3 window barn find

Just when you think they are all accounted for one pops up again from a decades long slumber! I'll follow with great interest to learn what form this nice 3 window will reemerge as in the future. Congratulations Glenn!

Thank you for the great words.I still can't believe I own it. It's going to be a great project. I wish I could retire and work on it every day.

That had to be an exciting day for you and Glenn digging that '35 coupe out.

Hi Everyone. Seth, It was an awesome day Saturday. But Glenn didn't say the whole story is that half the car was separated from the other half by sixty miles. I helped Glenn collect some very hidden bits on Saturday. Sunday Glenn got the body and frame and a lot more with more friends!

I'm betting he slept pretty well last night!

All family normal. I'm back to being the biggest ******* on earth, so we're all good here!

Congratulations, great find of an excellent project. One question though, I have never warmed to the grille area of a '35 so would a '36 or '37 front clip bolt right up, need a little work, or too much trouble to bother with?

It's just a matter of preference. Personally I prefer the the '35 grille over the '36, but maybe that's because my first car was a '35 Ford, and a 3w coupe at that. Now for those who prefer the '36 grille, they could put a '36 front end on a '35 body and make it look just like a '36. Or vise versa, take a '36 body and make it look just like a '35. The '37 front clip on a '35/'36 would be a real challenge.

Jeff, sounds good. Glad to hear everything is going well and back to normal! haha!:)

To me it's just the abrupt ending of the '35 grille. Just kinda chopped off to reduce length of car. 3 or 4 more inches and it would appeal to me.

To each his own. I'm a big fan of the 34 grill shell and I like how the 35 is a bigger bolder seeming version of the 34 shell. I tend to lean toward the 35s, more than the 36. So it's just a matter of preference.

Glenn, you keep finding these beautiful cars, you won't have to worry about what you'd ever do with your time in retirement. still think ya'll gonna need a bigger "garge" :D

I have seen a picture mayby from my '36 Ford buddy that showed the '36 Ford with the headlamps in the front fenders. This was in a Ford brochure from '36. From what I remember in the picture it looked like that was going to be the '36 Ford but then waited until '37. It may have been in the '36 dealer book but I know I have seen it.

Great find, looks like the former owner just ran out of time, there will be more and more of these deals in the near future. Good luck with the rebuild. Bob

Got a question on what primer would have used 45 years ago,I really don't want to go to bare metal. Is there a primer are sealer I could use over it
