just for speculation if a new 34 ford and a new 48 ford competed against each other in a 1/4 mile drag race which one would win?
 
Just a guess here BUT I would bet the 34 based on rear gearing. I know the 34 would "most likely" be 4:11, wouldn't the 48 be something high geared??
 
Correct, the 48 would most likely be 378's. The 34 is gonna be lighter, but the newer motor has a little more HP. My guess is the winner would be the guy willing to abuse his ****** with great speed shifting skills!

Would think the floor shift would ALSO have the advantage over the column shift in your scenario.
