34 Vacuum wiper motor question

I believe my 34 wiper motor has been changed but It works. My question is should it hold a vacuum at the motor with a hand pump?
The reason I ask is I'm chasing a rough idle with the carb adjustments after a short drive. It will stall at a stop light and not restart easily.

Yes, the wiper motor should not leak when off, but judging from your photo your rubber tubing should be horizontal where it connects to the wiper motor. It appears that it is not and therefore there's a possible air leak at that point.

It appears it may be time for replacement vacuum tube. Check vacuum with the wiper tubing removed from the intake manifold. Then check it at the end of the tube at the motor. You could have other problems.

I will be changing out the old rubber tubing from the wiper motor to the copper at the manifold. My concerns are that I can't hold a vacuum at the wiper motor with a hand pump. Maybe needs to be rebuilt? I don't know. Its a duel wiper so an extra prob. I need a recommendation on which manuals to order that will give me illustrations for various projects I'm coming across on dad's hand me down. He bought it in November of 50.
Thanks Terry

If you do pull the wiper motor I would find the correct one to replace it.There are some on that auction site also. Here is a pic of one I have which probably needs to be rebuilt if it can be.The bowl inside is not perfectly smooth -which it should be.Free for the shipping.

Now the wipers are not working at all. I must have over worked it with the pump? I've sprayed some silicone in it and I'll see what happens tomorrow. I will call Clean Sweep and see if they think its repairable. Thanks for the offer I'll reach out if needed.
