Has anyone fitted a 34 luggage rack to a 34 roadster as i am aware they were not fitted as standard due to the spare wheel Macs have them any knowledgible remarks appreciated
There were two different sets of brackets for the rack originally, one set for use with side-mounted spare tire(s) and the other set for use with a rear-mounted spare tire. The rack itself (both early and late versions) was the same in both applications at any point in time during the '34 model year.
The two sets of brackets are significantly different given the set back required with a rear mounted spare. It would be easier to create the version that you want from scratch than to modify the other version for your requirements.
I'm not intending to hijack this thread but could someone please explain or show a photo of how exactly does the rack bolt on (?) to the car? Is it a bolt-on application or are you required to drill holes to make it fit?
For example I have a Cabriolet which has short bumper braces - would this be a problem?
