Wow, excellent replys and photos.
Some 33/4's the lower front sticks out abit. I spliced a turnbuckel into the diagional strap. This allows an adjustment on the door fit.

WOWThanks Randy and Mr 42 Great photos this helps a lot .It looks like Mr 42 got in a wood kit .Who does this ? and cost .I have heard of the turn buckle idea bluardun its worth thinking about.

The wood "kit" was made here in Sweden by a teacher teaching woodworking, copying the old wood.
And it is a friend of mine's Roadster so i dont have any idea of the cost unfortunatly.

The turnbucke is a must, if you dont do like my friend, weld the door skin to the body.
And then glue all the wood inside the door to get the right shape, it will hold for a while at least i guess :-)

Thanks ,I have a band saw so will make it up I have some American oak to use ,I will post the progress on my 34 Roadster build Thread .I get your point about welding the door skin to the edges in a few spots this will stiffen the door ,the stock design has no weld I guess sos it can be adjusted , I am aware of the door needing to match the body so it will be done last , ,

Isn't oak to hard? my experiance is that it's hard and splinters (Crack) quite easy.
And since there will be some holes in it and hardware mounted, i guess it may crack.

wasn't ash used originaly, myself is thinking about using birch wood i cant get some ash wood.

I think there are a few woods that can be used Ash is a good choice ,These cars will be pampered so don't see rot setting in the main thing is warping ,My car appears to have Oak in it ,Oak was used a lot in furniture so long as its drilled ? maybe someone knows what they should have .I notice in the photos of the new wood he hasn't put in the steps to take the door seal .at the bottom.

Wow! Great photos. I never realized there was that much wood in a '34. Some A's had a ton of it.
Thanks for posting.
