Has anyone used this as a replacement? Does the guage adapt an work?
Second pic is my damaged sending unit with few remaning threads on the small air line
Remove the nut on the hydrostatic line fitting, it should not be there and is taking up threads. What you have shown is just a pick up and not a hydrostatic unit so using it will not allow your fuel gauge to function.
There is no nut on that line.Its a hex fitting that goes thru the bracket.One end is soldered to the air line and the other is machined with 5/16 X 24 male threads.Here is a close up pic of a '35 unit.
