34 PU door alignment

I am trying to align a 34 PU door with little success. Before I got too carried away I thought I would ask if anyone has found a good method. The cab is mounted on the frame, the lines on the cab are good at the cowl but the back of the door needs to come up about 3/8 to 1/2 inch. The hinge pins are good and the hinges don't appear to be bent. All latch pieces are removed so they have no effect. The drivers side is very close, the passenger side is the problem. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks much.

Your cab is to far to the rear at the top .pull it from a round the screen post forward .you also could shim under the cowl in line with the hinge .

You could put a turn buckell from the frame inside on the right at the about were your foot sits when driving .to the top right side of the cab.jack it forward ,or put a porter power from corner to corner (right rear to upper front pillar .It will need stiffening by welding at least at the top and bottom right rear . You could shim under the cowl thats between the chassis at the A pillar ,Drive a wedge in to see how it changes things .

Flathead - thanks for the info. I had considered the Porta Power, as I have done things like that before. But when cross measuring both doors, they appear very close so I think I will try the shims first. Thanks again.

I measured my 34 PU frame diag. first and then several other ways and ended up having to put a Ibeam under it, chain the frame to the beam on both ends, put a jack on the beam against the frame and go way over for the frame to come back right. That frame was way out of square that kept the doors and hood/grill alignment from working right.

This is always a problem if the frame isn't straight. My P/U has additional shim under the cowl foot on one side to align the door properly. You definately have to unbolt the cab and shim it either front, back or both. Yanking the cab around won't help you much unless it was bent out of shape to begin with.
