I am looking to get my horn and headlight switch on my '34 pickup steering column/wheel working again. Is this a difficult task and are parts available? Thanks!

Problem is that in a PU cab the horn rod may not come out-toooo long. Removing the steering with an engine in is also very difficult. Can be done-tricky job. Newc

Above picture is when I received the truck. Currently the cab and box are off the truck. See pictures for details...

Everything at the bottom of the steering box is available new, its all quite simple really.

The rod and lever may not be reproduced, don't know...never looked. You have a banjo wheel, 35ish deluxe, not 34 PU, so the rod length may be different, and I believe the top section of the rod may be year specific. you need to identify the steering wheel. Van Pelts fabulous web site may have a parts diagram.

He has a 37 banjo wheel with a 38 horn button and rod adapted to fit the wheel. He needs to see how far the rod extends past the end of the steering box.

Look and read this thread.

A couple illustrations from the Green Bible to help you.

The 38 steering shaft is about 4" + longer than the 34 so what you have(horn rod) could have been cut.It might be a bit tricky to make work with what you have.

What you have shown above is not the 34 horn button, light switch. This could mean the rod has a different length which will not work with 34?
