34 hood installation question

I'm using a Griffin radiator and the support rod bracket seems to sit proud of the tank. When installing the hood, the hinge flange sits on the bracket. If I space the hood hinge bracket up to clear the flange the hood is too high. I think it's time to bend the support rod bracket down below the tank top. Am I wrong?

Appears to high ?.Have you tried securing the hinge bracket by itself? Maybe with the SS hinge at cowl and grille and verify clearances ? The bracket is lower where the rods attach on the original. Look at where the rods are in relation to the top tank of the radiator on yours.

You will have to file a slot in the bracket for the hood hinge the fold down into.

Thanks for the input, after studying the photos you all provided, I decided a BFH would make the appropriate adjustments to the aluminum bracket welded to the tank. The bracket was very forgiving and everything now fits as it should with no interference.
When it works, its a good day!

About 20-yeras ago I had a new name brand radiator's upper mount, the one the rods go into just snap in half. It was made of thin junk. Since then, I only use original tanks and hardware and have them re-cored.
