'34 Hood hinge strip

I need to replace my '34 hood hinge connector strip. The original won't keep the hood together.
I got a replacement from Drake but it's too tight to join the hood together.
Can anyone suggest a better source for that connector strip? Like an NOS.

Drakes strip (in my limited experience) works with ORIGINAL hoods only.


Reproduction hoods work well with the common Vintique/Dales/UnitedPacific center strips.


ORIGINAL hoods do not work well with the common Vintique/Dales/UnitedPacific center strips.


The too tight issue sounds like a Drake strip with a repro hood.

Rootleib In Turlock has the ones that fit correctly. Same thing happened to me .
