OH MAN Lawrie.....that old iron sure looks inviting! Unfortunately. most all of ours here in the US has been crushed and probably sent to China :(

Lawrie, here you go
68-6049-B RH side
68-6950-B LH side Iron heads for domed pistons 21 stud

Also 48 prefix heads, same numbers. 48's were original equipment on 36's with dome heads, 40 for flat top pistons. 68's are aftermarket items, not production.

I have these numbers
68-6049-B RH side
68-6050-B LH side
on the motor in my '35 coupe... wondering if it might be a later 36 motor swapped in... never fooled it it at all to see if its an LB...
the heads are dated(if i remember correctly) 1947

this has me curious now!

Zach, when i posted the part numbers, i hit the nine instead of the zero, you are corect. These numbers that i posted came from the Green Ford chassis and parts catalog. I don't know if this was just luck, but all of the original 21 stud engines that i have taken apart, with 68 prefix heads, where all LB engines.....Ed

I believe that the 33/35 used flat top pistons and heads 40 6049-A, 40 6050-A (Aluminum) or 40 6049-B, 40 6050-B (Iron) with flat top pistins. I don't think the 68 series heads, to be used with domed pistons, were produced until 1936 but I could be wrong To me the 40 denotes 1934 and the 68 denotes 1936. Below is an Excel chart I put together from the Green Bible.

Canadian ally heads are [were] not the same. They differ both externally and in the combustion chamber shape. Brian
