34 ford cradle /x member question

Any one have any luck modifying the stock trans cradle to work with a Modern trans

I was thinking i Could remove and modify the orginal cradle and bolt it back in any points on this would be great

Also if you can post pictures that would be helpful

Not sure if it makes a differance but I'm running a 48 flattie with a ch**y trans

I've never done that, but Chassis Engineering makes an inexpensive trans crossmember that bolts in with minimal drilling. It works with a TH-350 too. I am thinking about getting one of these for my stock trans, not for this reason though.

You could plate the bottom and top and the trans goes through the hole,Most I have seen have some of the X member cut .

If your trans is the popular T5 5-speed maybe you'd like to check out the '34 Ford pickup buildup done by Rockets Garage. They posted photos on the HAMB and on their website (a link I recall). Anyway, here is one of their photos of the modified cradle. Note they were able to keep the stock wishbone.
