SOLD!
1934 Ford Deluxe 5 Window Coupe.
I am selling this car on behalf of the owner, it is in my possession. I have put about 50 miles on it testing and tuning, driving it is a pleasure. I've also closely inspected it on the hoist.
Finished in Dark Coach Maroon with mohair interior, this rumble seat coupe is currently licensed, insured and on the road. New parts include a 6v battery, freshly rebuilt starter, wiring harness, brakes and Firestone Deluxe Champion tires mounted on restored 17" wire wheels.
The 221ci 21 stud flathead starts easily and runs very strong with 30+ lbs oil pressure on startup and settling down at 10-15 lbs warmed up. It has 1936 model heads which would suggest a rebuild with dome pistons. The mechanical fuel pump runs flawlessly, as does the Stromberg carburetor, generator and cooling system.
The 3 speed transmission works great, has excellent synchros and stays in gear, notably, while decelerating in 2nd, as tested.
The suicide doors open and close as they should and all latches work properly including the hood and spring loaded rumble seat.
The grille and bumpers are in great shape. Windows are all safety glass and in good working order.
It was restored about 40 years ago and the worst part is the aging lacquer paint. There is some paint popping and spots where it has chipped off with light surface rust, but I can't see any rot on this car other than the re-chromed original windshield frame. Reportedly (and as far as i can see), it is all original Henry steel minus the rear fenders and tail pan which were replaced with fiberglass. Included with the sale is a brand new windshield frame kit, an original take-off tail pan (looks NOS but was mounted at one point) and an old pair of original rear fenders.
The frame on the driver side is as good as it gets. The passenger side is really good but has a bit of separation of the 2 layers. It is very very solid.
The car is located in Ontario Canada near the Queenston-Lewiston border crossing in Niagara Falls.
I can help with logistics arrangements.
Asking $45,000 usd
Please call or message me for more details, thanks for looking.
