'34 engine splash pan question

David,

I still tend to think that the lower pan above was for 33's only.
Reason being that I have seen several of these and have actually taken one from a discarded dumped 33 many years back.
All our 33/34's here in NZ were ex Canada.
I know of no 33's that ever came to NZ with the 12" front motor mount spacings.

Graham,

With respect, please re-read what I wrote. I believe that I ended up concluding that all of the pans in Trevor's photos are '33 pans and none of them will fit a '34 without having to be trimmed at the front to clear the wider (front-to-back) '34 front cross member.

As wholly-owned subsidiaries of Ford of Canada, Australian and New Zealand Ford were of course sourced in part (local bodies in the case of Australia) or whole (New Zealand) from Canada with the obvious exceptions of the Model Ys, which were not manufactured in North America.

I'm not sure that your last sentence precludes it from having happened given how long ago it may or may not have occurred.

Back in the late 40's when I was a kid the first thing
we got rid of was the splash pans. That's why they
are hard to find. G.M.
