34 coupe rumble seat counterbalance spring

On my 34 5w im setting up the counterbalance spring for the rumble lid , question is do they use 2 springs one each side or is 1 spring enough . In the open position does the lever face forward and have no spring tention on it , would anybody have a photo of spring installed , thanks in advance Phil

One per side and yes the arm faces forward with the lid open and little or no spring tension in that position. While the photo below is of a '32, the concept is the same for the '33-'34 versions. (I posted a photo of the other side of the same car on the tread currently running regarding this topic for '32s.)
