34 Brake Linings

Should all brake linings extend the full length of the shoe? The two rear linings on the front brake shoes are about 3//4 the length of the shoes. Should I re-line them that way or the full length of the shoe? Thanks for any input on this.

Originally, the shorter linings go on the rear side of both front and back assembly's. Use the woven linings, not the hard type. Doing it yourself ?

Yes, doing it myself. Thanks for the input. I wondered if the rear brakes should have short ones too. I wonder why their all not the same.

For 34 the linings are the same length front and rear on each wheel. use all 10 rivet holes when relining. If your using equalizers follow their instructions for the lining type. Mine say to use molded not woven lining. I would not reline your brakes due to the length of the shoe lining.

Interesting Terry, I have always thought the woven linings go on all mechanical brakes
