When Eric Vaughn was making Real Wheels he used to go get them at the foundry which involved filling the stake bed of his SBC powered deuce BB with the stock trans, rear and mechanical brakes with wheels and rolling down the CA freeway. Your truck is bitchin.
It's all stuff my dad, my friends and I collected over the years - All in the bushes at my dad's. If I don't save it, it's going to scrap. All those parts are getting hard to come by and being able to pick off the parts pile is nice. But I'm also out of my mind trying to save all this stuff...
This was my first truck I bought in 1984 barley running and rusty. I still have it and it still has the babit banger 6 but I put a GMC 6x6 overdrive trans. This is on the way home from a 2,500 mile trip up the coast and back in 1990 or so. It's where my user name came from. Sounds like we both like them!
I had a beautiful original M6 Chevy bomb truck. I drove it around for 15 years - it was a huge joy in my life. I sold it.... - might have been a mistake! But heck - I have more trucks than I know what to do with so..... I love driving antique trucks!
Here's a load I wouldn't do again in about 1998 back when the truck was my dad's. I bought this aprox 6,000lb lathe and they loded it with a bridge crane in a San Francisco machine shop. I snapped these pictures on my way back to Santa Cruz with it.
I inherited my dad's collection of M2-4's as well. I used to drive the closed cab one to high School after working for the privilege. I loved driving that as a kid too!
