33 wheels on a model T

yes they can be used with later wheels. just about all different sizes up to 90s truck 15 and 16 inch wheels. just check clearances when you install the wheels a spacer may be needed between the wheel and mounting surface.

'32 to '35 Ford wires need a 3/16" ring to properly mount these wheels. If you examine their hubs you'll see why. Model A wheels fit properly without these rings.

Hello, I new to the barn, so please bear with me.

I have A pile of T Items that I want to make into a fun driver. Kind of like early "rat', if you will, speedster.

My first question is that I have adapters for my hubs to take model A wheels. Can these be used with later wheels. "33 or "34? They will work with the bolt pattern.

If they can be used, what kind of problems can I expect?

MANY THANKS FOR YOUR HELP.:):):)

You may try introducing your self. As per rules. Oh by the way loose the OFF TOPIC term. Welcome aboard. Jim.T.

Well i guess one problem you might have is low gearing with those wheels. If you use a fairly lightweight body and want to go faster you could use the 3:1 gears in the rear axle without a problem (lightweight being not a 4door hardtop or delivery van).

i thought that was for the other message board, the one with the non-ford cars with slightly not correct parts.

DUHHH... I didnt get it! Mines one of the most Raton Grandes' here. Seriously, I consider mine nothing more than a period correct rat rod... mostly OEM stuff but with a chopped, lowered and lengthened frame, altered steering AND a home made bucket, where else would it fit in?? ws

On wheel size; A T equipped with standard 30" tires at 40 MPH would be travelling at 38.7 MPH if equipped with 34 Ford 5.50/6.00 X 17 tires.

Bill, Do rat rods have paint? Perhaps that is the difference that makes it a speedster??

Here is a rat rod with attitude!

For me, the term rat rod is meant to describe the rusty, cobbled up, and frequently unsafe crap that has been popular with some folks lately.
A nice period hot rod should never be called a rat rod.
