'33 rear wheel wells...

Are these panels just straight/flat sheet metal?

I was told they were a few years ago & was just making sure before I patched mine. Mine are kinda flaired out at the bottom, but that could be damage from transporting it...?

Thanks...

They vary depending on body style 33/34 .If the original panel doesn't have the crows foot then is flat .Ted

The attached photo is of an original wheel house of a '33 coupe.

Interesting, I thought "Crows Feet" style were original and flat was aftermarket. Didn't realize Henry made both.

I believe the plain wheel panels were early & "crows feet" design came out later; to add strength.

Thanks for the info guys!

DavidG thanks for the photo, it helped answer another question I had!!!

That's my understanding as well, flat panels for '33 and crow's foot for '34. Here's a shot of my '33 before restoring the metal work.

33's are flat for sure, and all of my 34's have the crows feet. However, Donnie Smart once told me that early 34's were flat as well...

Pic is remains of a 34 Dlx 4D with no crows feet . Note the 34 Dlx rear ashtray . My 34 roadster and cabriolet do not have them either .
