I have just put a second hand original diff under my 1933 Ford and was wondering what weight oil to use and how much to put back in as i would like to get rid of the old oil and replace with new oil,any info would be appricated, thanks Martin

Don't wanna start another oil mess but remember SAE 140 was the replacement for the SAE 160 stuff like SAE 90 was the replacement for the SAE 110 stuff . Multi weight is NOT THE SAME as straight weight gear oil . I just use straight SAE 140 in the rear,******,u-joint & steering all the time . Some have different ideas on this but I prefer what Henry said to use . The rear & ****** I fill to the bottom of the fill plugs . The u-joint only calls for 4 oz & if overfilled it WILL LEAK .
