33 door pillars

I see on my 33 fordor that I,m repainting there are two holes at the bottom of the door pillars, one each side of the bottom of the pillar where it attatches to the sill, are there suposed to be bolts there, the pillar is welded to the sill by the looks,
these holes would be under the scuff plates.
Thanks Lawrie

If the holes are close to the pillar, cadmium-plated carriage bolts that go through the scuff plates (not under them) are used.

There should be corresponding holes in the frame. The carriage bolts go through the frame and attach the the pillar to the frame.

Here's pics of gennie ones including the rears on a 4d . Anyway the troops covered it good above so i'm otta here . David J

Lawrie,

All of the above advice is based on North American-built '33s and '34s. As yours is likely built in Australia, there are differences in body construction, especially in the depth of the sills, so the above needs to be taken with a grain of salt.

David, My 33 is a New Zealand assemble car,and as such is the same as a USA one except the steering is on the right side
Thanks Lawrie
