The strut from the top to the lower panel floor pan seams to be three types. Pictured is what seems to be the simpliest. The other type looks the same but is gently bowed outward toward the wheel well and bowed forward to the front passenger.. thus it is harder to fab. I have seen a third where the strut is attached to the side of the wheel well and not the floor pan. Does anyone know why the three types ...my interest would be is it a 33 versus 34 etc. I think the bowed version is more 34 and the straight is more 33. Confirmation that the curve is not in 33 and the straight is not 34 would be of interest as well as the reverse(ie a different factory versus year).

Thanks

Ed, my '34 roadster has the straight one, same as you photo. The holes in the brace are for mounting the tool box between the brace and the quarter panel.

Hi Ed. If you're building a '33, angle it to the wheelhouse, if you're building a '34 drop it straight to the floor. Most things that we define as "33" or "34" were actually running changes. In my experience, the angled-out-to-the-wheelhouse brace is '33 or maybe even early '33 only. I've never seen a '34 roadster with the brace going to the wheelhouse, only to the floor.
