And finally the rest of what I took. The 39 & 40 coupes are untouched originals. The 49 Merc woody has 15K orig miles also orig paint. Plus my 36 5W that we drove about 800 miles round trip.Has a racy 59AB and got 16 MPG on best leg with a 4000 ft pass to go over.We got 3rd place in Touring A class. Not bad for having weak springs.

I heard that 265 early V8's showed up.It was my first time to a Nat'l meet with a car.Supposedly 199 cars were on the cruise to Zion. The St George police blocked 1 signal and the oncoming lane of the I 15 so we could all get on going north without incident. It was the maiden voyage for the 36 and could have made it on 2 tanks of gas from Hesperia,CA to St George,UT and same on return, about 320 mi ea way.Did a steady 65-70 MPH.My 59AB was built by Bill Robinson. Its .030 over with a std Merc 4" crank and a Potvin 3/8 super cam, vintage Sharp heads and intake & 2 - 97's.Fryer water pumps.Whitney alt conversion in a 39 std generator.Rear is 3.55.More details on the meet at www.earlyfordv8.org ,click on news.
Mike ,Yorba Linda, Yes it has a dropped axle and reversed eye front spring.I also removed 2 leaves from it(the 2nd because it wraps around the ends of the main and 3rd one from the top).
