32 Windshield frame

Hey guys, I was wondering if there is anything that goes between the windshield frame and the car body to keep the frame from knocking the paint off ?

you talking about the rubber that goes around the outside of the frame ?
how about between the frame and the body, so the actual frame metal wont hit the body metal ?

If the windshield is adjusted correctly and the rubber installed correctly there shouldn't be metal to metal contact? For curiosity I checked my delivery, 3 window and 5 window and can't see metal to metal contact.

Nor on roadsters and phaetons (should there be any metal-to-metal contact).
