32 sedan side window stuck

HI, Happy Fathers Day

The passenger side rear window on my 32 tudor will not go up all the way. It's getting stuck about half way up, something interfering?

Anybody else have this issue? Any fix ideas?

Thanks,

Tom, For one the window going down will only go approx 2/3. You might have to remove the garnish molding, rear seat window crank handle and then the uph panel to see what happened.A little tricky to get the panel off as there are tiny nails securing it to the door jamb wood strip. The window regulator arm might have slipped off the track.

The car is an original and I would think he can carefully grab the glass and still wiggle a bit it if the channels are worn to get the window up.

Thanks again for the replies,

Window stops about half way up. giggle the glass while cranking, stops same spot.

Removed the garnish molding, Flash light and slim jim both sides, nothing,

I'll take it apart hope nothing is broken, grease everything, put it back together

Let you know what I find,

Tom,That window regulator is relatively simple .Its a single arm and replacements available. The end of the arm slips in a slot in the lower channel .There is a coil spring on th end of the arm which keeps it snug in the channel. That could be the problem if spring broke. Being that its the rear side window I doubt that the teeth on the regulator gear are damaged but could be. I have done a couple 32 tudors so been thru it.

There is a mechanism in the winder part that is designed to create drag so the window doesn't wind itself down. On my 32 sedan rear windows the mechanism would lock solid. I sprayed a lot of lubricant into it and I sort of overdid it. It winds up and down ok but slowly lowers itself as I drive along.
So when yours stops, does it feel like the glass wants to keep moving but the handle doesn't want to turn, or is it that the handle is trying to lift the glass but the window is jammed?

I put the rear windows in my sedan using a LeBaron Bonney kit. I showed it in a video. I will add a link if you think it may be useful.

Hi Mart, Thanks for the response and very informative video.

The glass stops hard in the same spot. There is no slow down or jamming like binding in the channel. Im starting to think one of the regulator attachment screws got loose, backed out and is interfering with the regulator arm. It's all speculation until I take it apart. I was hoping that someone had the same problem and knew exactly what the fix is.
