32 seat

I am reconstructing my 32 5 window and have a question regarding the seat frame and spring cushions compared to a 3 window coupe.

Are they interchangable or can a 5 window seat be modified to fit a 3 window.

According to Labaron Bonney, different part numbers are assigned to the 5 window compared to the 3 window.

Thank you

When I bought my 3W, the seat bottom fit well but had seat covers. I started taking the covers off and after 12 layers, the bottom did not fit anymore. It was a 5W bottom! I was able to trade for a correct 3W bottom. The 3W seat is bigger in every direction. It is about 3" wider at the top of the seat back. The springs in the seat bottom are wraped in burlap and extend down into the base frame. I can see no way a 5W seat can be expanded to fit a 3W. It is easier to cut down.

Apart from the cushions, the size and construction of the two coupes' seats are entirely different, especially on the sides and in the depth of the seat frame from front to rear. Additionally, the seat tracks on a 3-window seat are longer than those on a 5-window coupe to accommodate the larger (deeper) seat frame.

Here's a couple of photos that might help (the one in color is the 5-window seat).
