'32 Roadster project

Hi guys,
Just wanted to share some progress on my '32 project.
Its an original car that came from a friend in Colorado few years back.
Everything is pure pure pure except for the passenger door. For over a year now I have been on the hunt high and low for an original door. So far no luck. I guess its the fact that its so close to being 100% Henry that drives me crazy. Anyways, this whole thing has been a great learning curve. The original cars are just so much different than a Brookville its not even a comparison. It been fun attending swap meets and meeting other early V8 guys while collecting the bits and pieces needed to put it together. Anyways here are some pics, the plan is to have it finished up for next summer.

With that windshield, I wouldn't worry too much about keeping it pure. Just get it back on the road! Good for you saving another body someone gave up on. I had to hammer weld 10" all the way around the body of my avatar roadster.

By being so much different,I guess you mean the soul of the body?...I've had both original and Brookville and there is very little difference...and those differences are now gone with the latest bodies.

Brookville make a great product and many " original " cars are on the road due to their exact replacement panels.I know how you feel about getting an original door for your body, but don't be to put off by a Brookville door....think on it as an aftermarket Ford door...I think they are licenced by FoMoCo , so in my mind that is as good as the real thing.

Use a B-ville till you find an OEM. Don't let it slow you down or you may never get er going. The B-ville door may need some massaging but hey if that's what it takes!

Remember the there are "early" and "late" doors. It has been a long time but if I remember correctly the difference has to do with the amount the top of the door overlaps the upholstery. You won't notice it looking at a single door but a pair in the car might be noticed if they were different.

Also some doors have a reveal around the hinge as well as the part that bends over the top. If you buy an Bville to get you on the road, make sure you get one to match the other side, they make both. You may find a door someday but enjoy the car as soon as you can.
