'32 Roadster/5W Rumble Hinges

I acquired a set of rumble hinges from a 32 roadster that was in long storage since the 60s. Cast in is the number 10-41546, the symbol A and a hexagon and the number 1. Along the round area where the pivot bold goes is the number #41547 and #41548 on the other one. These numbers are close to the Ford part #s but are not quite. The hinges are good quality, look like gennie Ford parts, but are they? Anyone know? What is the pair worth?

Thanks all.

My roadster rumble hinges had some numbers like that and I remember the hexagon. I am pretty sure that the roadster uses different hinges then the 5w. That vertical brace that the hinge bolt to is a different length due to the difference between the roadster and 5w quarter panels. The lid is the same as a 5w but the hinge is different. Not sure which you have without tearing my car apart. (Don't you own a cabriolet?)

The part number prefix "10" was used by Ford in 1931 before the familiar "B" and "18" prefixes were adopted for the '32 model year vehicles and their constituent parts (well before actual vehicle production began in March 1932). The "10" prefix survived on some examples of the rumble seat hinges. The basic numbers of 41546 and 41547 for the hinges in question are correct and later production versions carried the "B" prefix. The reproduction hinges were cast off originals so they picked up the part numbers, etc. About the only way to tell a reproduction from an original is the material used. The originals are made of steel and the reproductions are made of cast iron.

Thanx for the info, fellows. I'm now sure that mine are gennies. I bought the stuff left over from a recent roadster (flathead) build that was converted to trunk model. And yes, I do own a cabriolet that I bought in 1966 for $550 and a used slide projector.

It was better in the old days.......
