For the first month and a half of production of '32s in the U.S., the standard four-cylinder ration was 3.78 for open car chassis and 4.11 for closed car chassis and that of all the V8s, 4.33. In late April, 1932, the 4.11 ratio rear axle became the only one used. When the 18-prefix rear axle assembly was released for production in September, its gear ratio was also 4.11. No other gear set for this later rear axle was used in production, but a 4.33 gear set was released for service in late November.
Given the above, the vast majority of '32 rear axle assemblies one might encounter will have 4.11 gears. It is likely that the same can be said of Canadian-built '32s.
